I acquired a couple of tough Pistol Pete items. The first is a 1978 RC Cola Hang Tag. These are extremely rare and I have never seen another one. There are two of these graded by PSA for the set, but there has never been a Maravich graded. The second is a hang tag from 1970's Vitalis Hair Spray.
The RC card I'm just showing off before I send it to PSA. It has some surface scratching and pitting so I'm not expected much on the grade. It doesn't really matter on this card too much as it's super rare in any condition.
My question on the hair spray hang tag is whether you guys think PSA would grade this and if it would be worth grading.
I've got a few other cool Maravich items I may post later. Thanks for looking.

<< <i>Did you end up with the Pistol collection from the Huggins & Scott auction? I was one of the underbidders and regret not going higher. >>
Yes I did! There was some really cool stuff in this lot, some of which was not really described very well. I'm a big Pistol Pete fan and so is my 14 year old son. There were a few items in the lot that I really wanted and this RC Cola card was one of them. It was the first time I've been able to locate it so I went after it. My boys and I have had a lot of fun going through the lot, but my wife is ready to have her dining room table back!
There was a camp brochure in the lot that has a Pistol Pete signature on it. I'm doubting it's authentic, but I suppose it could be. Here's a pic of it...what do you think?
I topped out at $650 on my bid but I knew there had to be at least $1500 in the lot. The RC hangtag is cool, the Mattel discs are cool even though they aren't all that rare, the camp stuff is unique, and obviously there were things like the hairspray tag that weren't even mentioned. I think you did really well with the lot, especially if the autos are legit.

Obviously you'd need to call or email PSA customer service but they do grade the hang tags from DiMaggio Shoes.

<< <i>That Maravich auto almost looks like it was traced over but it's hard to tell because the background design has lines in it as well. >>
I agree and thought the same thing first time I looked at it.
