Lloyd McClendon to the Mariners - Seriously?

I guess they never want to be a winning organization - of the three that were considered - he would have been my 3rd choice. He must have really blown away Jack Z during the interview. Yes, he is the only one who has managed at the MLB level before - but I believe that the other 2 candidates (J Cora & C Hale) would have been a better fit for a young upcoming team. Not so sure that they’ll move forward now.

    Jack and Lloyd will both be gone after '14, and then another decade of NOTHING will begin.

    What is the specific objection? Why would the other two have been better?
