New Member - Introducing Myself

Hi Gang,
I just joined the CU Forum for the first time and wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. While attending my first National this past summer, I spent some time with Steve and Reed at the BBCE booth. They both told me about the great members of this forum and so I decided to check it out a couple of months ago. I must say it has been great reading the threads and realizing there are many others out there with my same addiction to cards! After lurking for the past few months, I figured it was finally time to join the conversation.
They say the first step is admitting you have a problem. I can vividly remember ripping into my first pack of football cards as a kid back in 1982 and sifting through the players hoping to land a few Detroit Lions. I found an Eric Hipple in the first pack and I have been hooked ever since. While most aspects of my life have evolved over the years, the one constant has always been collecting cards. For me it is the history they capture, both for the player depicted and my own nostalgic memory of where I was when I got the card.
Over the past 30+ years, my collecting interests have mostly boiled down to key rookie cards and unopened material. I love the thrill of holding a pack in my hand and knowing any card in the set is possible, just like my first pack back in 1982. Every now and again, I even rip a few to take a stroll down memory lane.
With that, I look forward to meeting you and joining the great discussions this group has created.
Chris

Hiya Chris
Welcome!
I know what ya mean! Tho it's not a main focus of mine, I did collect unopened until it started to get a bit too pricey. My pickups were in the late 80s/early 90s.
76OPC box one of my favorites.
I look forward to your posts. Don't be a stranger.
