1913-S Type 1 Buffalo nickel obverse lamination error. Reverse die clash?

Found this today and as I collect lamination errors garbed it. The question I have about it is on thee reverse near front leg, is that die damage or a die clash as I have no other Buffalo nicks with this anomaly. Any help with it would be appreciated. Ofcourse general opinions on the coin are welcome also.

Based on the images, I don't see anything that suggests clash or otherwise. Maybe if the images were higher resolution we could see something. Otherwise it's a nice error.

Delaminating planchets are not uncommon with this series. Here's a 21-S that is really messed up.

  • still not to fond of ICG and the crossover potential of that grade. The coin is neat and a key but I would go 750 to 800. Thanks for the link and comments.

So true as most all San Fransisco minted Buff prior to 1930 are easily found with lamination issues.

That 21-S is example of good money tied up poorly as that will take a LONG time to sell...

No error collector will want it and no regular collector unless heavily discounted.

  • I have a good number of the Buffalo lamination errors as I enjoy collecting them. But that coin is a hard sell and Honestly I like mine better, only if it were a type 2 image
