Just busted a box, pulled nothing at all of any value, a total waste of money.

    Drock, thats what I've heard too. Everyone is pulling crap and more crap from these boxes, and the one I just opened confirmed that for me.

    Well,actually they don't guarantee anything in the boxes if memory serves me right.
    As far as the damaged card goes,simply contact Upper Deck;they will be happy to replace it for you.We always got great service from them in the past.
    The SP Authentic card line is a great one;it always commands the higher prices at auctions & trading.Sounds like you just got a box that didn't have any of your favorite players in it.Just buy another box;your luck is sure due to get better.

    I personally have opened 2 and have seen 5 others opened, and nothing good came out of anything. A big waste of money image

    uwftke26- just because you did not pull anything nice does not mean the poduct sucks. if you expect every bo to have something worth tons of money, you are in the wrong hobby. i have seen 5 boxes ripped: 2 boxes contained a jason richardson auto rookie which sell for over 200, 1 box had a kobe/jordan auto, and 2 other boxes contained nice auto rookies (kwame and joe johnson)

    I like this product and the rookies are the best from this year.

    shame man..the only way to make nice pulls from a product like that is to do what some shop owners do..crack a case, i never touch that stuff in any sport

    One film, one auto, and one jersey per $100 box is simply not a good deal, even if you do pull the occasinal Gasol or Richardson, in the meantime you'll pull plenty of Alvin Jones and Kenny Satterfilds.

    I also realize that I got a crappy box, and others might get better ones..I'm not an idiot. I'm just saying, in my opioion, this is a crap product this year,a nd thats a shame because in past years it was regularly the best.

    i got a box and it was much worse than that.... cant even remember what i got if that shows you how bad it was.... just got a reg no name rookie , no auto... and a darrell armstrong sigh of the times... oh yeah i remember my rookie was some white guy, lol
    so top that for a junk box
    oh yeah it was a pepe sanchez rookie, lol
    i know everyone will be knocking down my door for these great pulls

    now this is one of the reasons why I , like auto, stopped buying boxes
    1) you never get what you want
    2) they're way too expensive for me since I live abroad
    3) they're way too expensive.. $100 for an SP Authentic box? come on now.. that's crazy!

    I grabbed my $60 I was going to buy a box with and bought the following with it:

    - 2 00-01 UD Jerseys of Shaq
    - 1 Topps Pristine Pristine Portions Shaq ($150 a box!)
    - 1 Topps Champions & Contenders Finals Jersey Shaq
    - 1 Topps Champions & Contenders Finals Jersey Horry
    - 1 Topps Champions & Contenders Finals Jersey Devean George

    You will never EVER get that out of 1 box.. so why even bother buying them? for beating the odds of pulling that 1 supercard? believe me, by the time you've pulled it, you will have payed double its value for it in buying boxes..

    I have never bought a box and the last time I actually bought packs I had some luck. I got a few 95-96 UD and 96-97 UD and pulled a Garnett Electric court rc., Joe Smith Electric court rc., Rasheed Wallace rc., Finley rc., and a Stackhouse rc., and a Glen Robinson electric court gold card that books at about $10 all from about 3 packs of 95-96 UD and from a couple packs of 96-97 I got an iverson predictor scoring rc. and a kobe rc. Those were the days when the packs were cheap, the cards were simple, and you almost always pulled something decent. I still got all those cards. Lol image

    Wow,some interesting comments on buying & busting boxes in general.We actually enjoy buying boxes & in fact,try to buy boxes that DO NOT guarentee certain cards in them.Part of the joy we get from this great hobby is the ripping of the packs to find,maybe something real special.Along with that,we also enjoy finding regular issue or inserts of players or teams we like.

    Prices of some product do limit what we can or can't afford;we will also try to trade or go to eBay to get certain cards we want or need.

    But we can't ever think of a time where we wouldn't want to rip a box! ! That is a special time for us when we get to do it.But then,we are collectors;we aren't in in for the money or to brag about getting the coolest card;rather we find the excitment in finding that special player we like;in our case that would be Cal Ripken in baseball or
    Patrick Roy in hockey or Michael Vick in football etc......

    In fact,we have a box of 2002 Donruss Kings Baseball on its way to us soon.It is the 25th anniversary & they are bringing out a whole set of it this year.We are both excited about pulling that Ripken or others we like.We can't wait & I hope to God that we'll never lose that feeling of ripping those packs!! Just our 2 cents!

    I see a lot of truth in what Bobstar and Undertaker areb saying. On one hand, nothing beats the thrill of busting a box; on the pther hand, that $100 will go very far on ebay as well.. It's a tough line to walk. I don't ever want to lose that joy of busting packs, but I could do without the disappointment of a crap box like today's SP authentic. Nothing sucks worse than finishing poff a crap box and thinking what that $100 could ahve bought you.

    Basically only buy boxes that contain cards you want, not for the potential value. I bought some SP Authentic Golf only trying to get a Tiger or good rc, but basically it was a waste. On the other hand I did my research and even after the terrible bust that was Fleer Legacy Basketball, I went ahead and bought 3 boxes of Fleer Legacy Baseball and they didn't disappont. Auto'd caps of Barry Bonds, Juan Gonzalez, and Don Mattingly. RC's of Ichiro and Pujols. Ken Griffey Jr. Hot Gloves Redemption, Barry Bonds Ultimate Legacy, Stan Musial Hit Kings, Todd Helton Base/Ball, Barry Bonds Base, and 2 more bat and 3 jersey cards. I've never cared for SP Authentic, I have never pulled anything that decent even after purchasing several boxes. My best basketball box this year was probably Topps Heritage seeing I pulled 2 autos and a gu, everyother box has been basically average for pulls or really poor like Fleer Shoebox collection where I pulled crap. UD Authentics Baseball is a nice product for the price, especially with 3 to 4 jerseys per box and the chance for auto'd memorabilia redemptions 1 every 6 boxes.

    My point was this: People make such a big deal out of buying boxes when they KNOW that they are taking a risk in either having great pulls, and vice versa. The shoes was just a sarcastic remark to spice it up a tad. image

    I bought one pack and got a Jordan sp spectaculars #0977/1000. I watched one sell on ebay for $45. Not bad for one pack.

    vittleboy, if you can make any kind of profit, sell them before word gets out how bad they suck. Think about it...you get 9 rooies total in the three boxes, do you really want to take the chance that you'll get your money back. I guarantee you, if you can get $275 for the three boxes, you could buy the sp authentic cards you wanted on ebay.
