I haven't been keeping up with the coins lately, but I can take a stab at it. That is the most common year for the issue (34 million+) and finding them in MS-67 is not TOO hard. The 68 though, well that might get some people excited. My 2012 JNDA catalog puts the gem price at 15,000 yen (roughly $153). However, the book does not distinguish among the minutiae of the grades.

If I saw it on ebay I'd probably drop a $225 dollar bid on it, and feel like I was overpaying. I suppose the real way to find out is to list it on ebay and see what it fetches. You may get a couple of people going nuts over it.

However, nice as it is, it's not a rare coin in gem condition, and it would not surprise me to see more in this quality when/if the Japanese decide grading is cool. Last time I was at a coin show in Tokyo there was a table for PCGS (or maybe it was NGC...) and it did not look busy. The VAST majority of stuff was raw...and this was THE big coin show. That was only 2011, so not that long ago either.

Any pictures? Wild color/toning is also not the most desirable thing to many Japanese collectors.
