1995-96 Topps Finest Gold Refractors (Hockey)

Does anyone have historical pricing on these? How high did they get back before it was known that Topps produced more than 150 of them? Any ideas on how many are actually out there for each card?
I pick things up
I am a collector
And things, well things
They tend to accumulate

    There was a complete refractor set for sale about 6 years ago. The seller had a starting bid or bin for $800. I can't remember which one it was.
    I didn't follow it to see if it sold but I did ask him about quality of the cards. He also stated he had a lot of duplicates and would replace any individual card(s) if condition was not to my satisfaction. I know this doesn't much but I can only imagine the time and effort putting that beast together.
