Indianapolis "State" Coin show this Friday & Saturday

Anyone here going? I'm going Friday and hope to be there around Noon-ish. I'll be wearing a bright gold Steelers cap. If you think it's me, punch me in the face or just say hello...either way it's a conversation starter.
I hope to meet someone from here there image

My first time at this annual show of 55 years, and it was a blast. Was The biggest show I've ever been to. Definitely a "coin" show, not much bullion to be had which was honestly my first intention to look for, but I managed to find some quality bars. Looked at several key date coins, but the sellers wanted a pint of blood along with payment, some guys were out of this world on what they were asking. Didn't buy a single coin image but I still really enjoyed the atmosphere of a big time show. Well worth the nearly 175 one way mile trip especially with the silver art bars I walked way with.

I decided to run up to the Indy show Friday morning. It is a very decent show but it use to be much larger than it is now. I was a little disappointed that a couple of the larger dealers that attend the show every year brought very little with them.

I guess it depends on what you collect. For me, there was plenty of selection, but like I said...I wasn't willing to give what was being asked.
Back home tonight after visting some relatives on the way back up and am I ever going to sleep good tonight image

my first time to that show as well.

the first box i looked at had xf classic head large cents (many), au capped bust half dimes (many), 1794 halves, and tons of other early coinage in better condition. 200k small double row box easy, plus a very nice au50 pcgs 1797 10x6 dollar and tons of other stuff, xf/au bust halves by the handfull, piles of unc franklins very nice, an entire booth of monster toners, best i've seen to-date, bought a few. a lot of early dollars. ms65/66 fbl franks. add the 39-o half to that box in ms62? with obv/rev ring tone.

saw a dozen dealers i know and see regularly but only had time to visit half a dozen booths, usually an hour or less per. of course had to go out to get some fresh air. very stimulating with that much stuff to look through. would have liked to saw more civil war halves but i didn't look around enough and the extreme differences of merchandise from one booth to the next can create ADD in a heartbeat lol.

sold a fair amount plus buying a bit usually makes for a great day. not a fan of all the yapping over the PA system though. police escorts were nice but didn't see any obvious cameras but then again, i didn't look for them. seemed like a nice hotel imo.

wish the show ran from 7am to midnight. probably 30 booths i would have love to have visited. time went by very quickly. the dealers don't even need to get up for me, just let me pop the hood and have my way imageimage - gotta love trust and good relationships, plus an honest face? somewhat shaven image
