2 1960 PSA 7 Ernie Banks 12 minutes apart. Almost $100 difference

Interesting that these 2 cards closed within 12 minutes of each other yet so far apart on price.

The centering on the more expensive card is a little better.

One of them sold for the highest amount this year while the other sold for the lowest amount. (from VCP)

After those four National League games, Gorman Thomas was never the same, and neither were the Brewers, and come to think of it neither was I.

By the way. I am not complaining or asking why.

    Just pointing it out

The more expensive one appears it could be undergraded. The other appears it received a generous grade.

More potential buyers may be seeing the one Probstein listed vs the other or just a basic seller reputation issue in general. I see this with a number of popular sellers and you will still see new sellers giving things away on occasion because the bidding just isn't there. the popular sellers seem to get better money than run of the mill sellers enough to make me believe there is something to their customer base.

There is a seller of IP autographs that i buy from occasionally that gets ridiculous prices for most of his items. There is no other reason i can think of as to why he gets tends to get multiple times more per item. He has dedicated buyers who complete and the same card may sell for a buck elsewhere and he gets $23 for his.

Good ideas.....some of the other members on here think it is a different reason why Probstein and PWCC gets the high prices compared to "run of the mill sellers". And NO, it is NOT related to customer base.....image

PS - the one that sold for a record high price.....if bidder (977) doesn't bid, it sells cheaper than the other one, as it was sitting at $53 until a last second snipe came in. Not enough different bidders above $50 on that card to warrant calling it anything other than a fluke.

They are both variants and the first one seems to be scarcer. See the blue line in the bottom border in the first scan. The second one has the green x lower left corner of extending lines.

It has been a subject elsewhere, so it could have played a part.

More expensive card is a MUCH nicer looking example, seems like a borderline 8.

Lower selling card was hurt by being up for auction at the same time.
