Heritage Domain Sale Now Open

There's only 1 Numismatics.com . I remember an acquaintance had domains and sold one of them to a Canadian guy for what he thought was a lot of money, ( it was 6 figures ). I could be wrong about this part but it became Thailand.com I think and it resold for 3 Million ( USD ). Around that time I was trying to buy a neighboring countries url for a lot less as the people who owned it were losing their business in the country but again a Canadian bought it. I think Heritage could become the number 1 in this area pretty easily as they have the online presence that nobody else quite has.

Anyone here own rare coin domains?

I'm glad Heritage is doing this. I've had very bad experiences buying existing domain names in the past and I'm sure Heritage will make sure it is above board and well handled.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Heritage use heritage.com in the past to use their web site?
So they sold their domain name and opted for the present ha.com.? I've always wondered
why and just thought it was easier to type ha.com then heritage.com.

Or am I completely missing the point of the OP?

Heritage used to be at heritagecoin.com. Heritage.com belonged to another company.

Yes, the point of the thread is Heritage is doing an auction of domain names. This has nothing to do with the heritage.com (or ha.com or heritagecoins.com) domains.

Though I have not "used" it yet, I own www.vermontcoppers.com My work takes boatloads of my time and I got rid of my Internet connection on the computer at my shop (to intentionally prevent loss of workbench time to mindless surfing). Seems now that the collection is developing I should start thinking about this again

uhhhh, the time was about 10 years ago. Every incarnation of 2, 3, 4, 5 character domains has been registered. Find one, and you can build a whole company around it.

I've only been to a few of the top sellers.

    fb.com
    yp.com
    altavista.com

haven't been to AV in years, FB in months and yp is used sometimes and sometimes not, so maybe weeks or months. YP and Google try to be too intelligent with their search, I'd rather grab a paper copy of the YP if available. I once searched for some bank and one of the hits was on Jos. A. Bank. lame. I only need results for that specific bank, thank you.
