2 New Top Pop Varieties and 1 that almost made it and My First MS 67 Quarter

Well I started a MS Quarter Variety Set 6 months ago and this first quarter I actually found the 8th known example of the 1943 S Goiter is VG 08. Found this new one a couple months ago on ebay and the grade just came back yesterday. I thought a Top Pop on this one but fell short by one grade and ended up getting a MS 64 which is still a great upgrade and there are now Only 11 examples graded.

Second Quarter was purchased at a Heritage Auction from the MJK Collection Proof 66 Cameo DDO 101 and I have been looking for this example for over a Year in Cameo. Once in hand I knew it was a upgrade from the Proof 66 Cameo to join the other 6 examples, Top Pop Proof 67 Cameo.

Sometimes you have to pay up for a Variety and this one came from RCNH and my new friend Paul. Its a 1953 D DDR 801 and is the Top Pop MS 65 no picture yet but in hand the coin is solid. As soon as I got that coin and looked it over I found one of the pickup points that is on everyone of these with the DDR Amazing. I also picked up my First MS 67 a 1952 Quarter.

I am really having a Blast with working on the MS Variety Set and continue to search for the last 2 Varieties for the Proof Set. And I also need to Thank Notsure Ken who GAVE me a 1957 MS 66 Type B to upgrade my 65. Enjoy

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Very strange. But anyway, congrats on making some top pops! I know the feeling that moment you view the results online, overwhelmed with glee

U.S. Type Set
Looking forward to seeing you at the Springfield show next month.
Keep on finding those Quarters!
No matter what I've said in the past silver is a great metal for making coins.
<< <i>Woah, maybe it's my eyes, or maybe it's the photo, but is that '43 really popping out at me? The reverse looks fine, which leads me to believe it's the photo.

Those are all nice finds. I also collect Washington Quarters, but have not really gotten into the varieties, but you are starting to peak my interest with every post. I do have a full set of Washington Quarters raw in BU, and I need to check these for varieties. I am aware of the Type B variety and I did find a '59 Type B in my collection.
Thanks for sharing.

Casman, that is a nice looking coin! You did well with that.
Speaking of persistent, you're like a dog on a bone over on the BST, looking for those two varieties.
I really like Washingtons too but am not versed in the varieties.
I've been picking some lightly toned examples from the 40's thru the 50's simply because I love the look and it isn't breaking the bank.

Super...Just super, Tom!
Congratulations.
<< <i>Congratulations Tom. Started only 6 months ago....that's persistence.

I remember Tom first coming here, going through rolls of silver quarters left to him by his folks. Once he got Variety Fever (started with the B's), man, Tom just picked up the ball (the CPG) and ran like Forrest Gump, until he became one of 'the' Washie variety guys (he's had good help from other members, and others who aren't), but he's listened to and absorbed and maintained that knowledge. But, he STILL had to take the helm and move forward on his own). He's CERTAINLY surpassed me (about after the B craze died down, what 6 months after he joined???...lol)), and to think, I actually gave HIM information for help, at one time....lol Tom's one guy that really learned, and I commend him for the knowledge he left himself open to, and learned, not having everyone here do the work for him, as some mostly former members did. Hell, with some of the varieties (and there's a ton of varieties!), you just can't be a plastic buyer, you have to find them in the wild. Tom has a knack for finding them, though the refresh button on his computer must need replacing by now!!!

Tom,
I turned on my PM. Didn't know it was off.
