A few questions about Superbirds.

Please sort things out for me if you can.

FS-901---Superbird.
FS-902---Superbird w/hand engraved tail feathers.

I understand that all FS-901's don't have the hand engraved tail feathers, but do all FS-902's have the DDO?? If so, what are the diagnostics for the DDO?? Finally, what are realistic prices for the FS-902 in PR65/66/67.

Ok as far as I know there is no DDO for the 1952 Proof. There is a DDO for the 1953 Proof. The prices on the Engraved Tail Feathers for the 1952 have been all over the board. The lone 68 I was outbid on and went for over 1800. I have seen 1 67 sell for 650 and a recent Proof 66 ETF went for alittle over 330 bucks on ebay. There are 28 coins out there graded from proof 63 price guide 35 bucks up to the Proof 68 1800......Enjoy

There are two master obverse dies for the 1951 -1952 quarters. One of these has doubling on it (series doubling). There are 1952 proof coins
with obverse doubling from their master die.. Whether this includes the Superbird, I do not know. It would not surprise in the least if FS-901 and FS-902 came
from different obverse master dies.
