1997 Fleer Tiffany

How were 1997 Fleer Tiffany cards distributed?

Factory Set? Something else? Can't seem to find out much info. about them-
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I could be wrong but I thought those cards were inserted in to packs.
    1 per pack maybe?

Marc, they are mentioned on baseballcardpedia as an insert and none of the inserts are listed as having a Tiffany variation (both practices I believe Fleer did at one point) so my guess is through a factory set.

Nevermind, I was wrong. After looking at bbcpedia again it appears they were inserts, 1:20 packs both in series 1 and series 2. My bad.

I recall they were a parallel insert averaging one per pack and available in both series as well as from your local Fleer back-door supplier in set format.

    1996 was 1 per pack with 1997 at 1 per 20

Thinking about the Ortiz RC I take it?
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

Just curious -- although that did pique my interest.

That must be a really difficult parallel set to put together, if you only got one per twenty packs. Are the Tiffany cards differentiated in any way other than heavy gloss? (e.g. does it say Tiffany on the back or anything?)

I was watching the 97 Griffey that ended last night but ended up blowing it off as I thought it was more
common. 10.00 was the closing price...

I don't remember if the back said anything, but the regular issue Fleer from that year has such a matte finish, that the Tiffany ones are easily distinguished.
Yeah, I uploaded that KC icon in 2001
