worth anywhere near PCGS price guide prices?
Specifically a 1908 no motto in ms64 pg = $1960 and a 1924 ms63 pg $1810
BTW why would anyone with any smarts at all consign one of these or a 1 ounce AGE to an auction with 20% commission?

Most available coins in any series aren't "worth" PCGS price guide, at least not when you go to sell to a dealer. Typically PCGS price guide is 30-50% above wholesale for commonly found coins.
The common date saints have probably a tighter structure than most coins since they get approx 80% of their value from bullion. I agree that it makes no sense to consign common date Saints or
bullion to an auction unless the coin superbly PQ for the grade (ie a MS66++ or MS67 Saint). And even in those instances you can probably do as good or better finding the right buyer. It's not much
different than consigning common date generic Morgans in MS63-65 to an auction with a 20% fee.
<< <i>FWIW, these are the coins of interest. To me, I'd just as soon buy Leafs or bars from JM, but if the price was right you never know.

FWIW, the coins hammered as follows:
1908 $1800
1924 $1450 both saints had spots.
2013 Buffalo $1950
Was there a buyer's premium? If not, that wasn't a bad price for that '24 Saint, spots and all.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Yeah, I just don't understand why anyone would consign coins like that at 20% commish, but then again they'd probably take less from a hotel buyer.
And yes, in my experience to some who would get cut off at the knees by a 20% commish, they would have probably taken less from a hyped hotel buyer in a minute.
