Perfect 1975 mini yount except for...

What do you do when you open a series of 1975 mini packs and get unreal stars but the centering is ridiculous? I'll update this thread over the weekend with some scans, but the Yount is perfect in every way other than its centering is laughable. What do I do with the card? Should I start a 1975 mini OC set? I have about 200 of those

Next week, when people start opening their packs from the group rip, you might be able yo buy enough o/c cards to complete the o/c set. image

A PSA 9OC Yount would certainly be worth submitting and is $75+ card.

No joke, I once embraced this and attempted to build a graded oc set called Duff's Mini Misfits. It was a lot of fun as they are easy to find cheaply, plus my own misses over the years, but I hit a point over 300 or so where it got hard to fill and no sane person is going to sub ocs to fill a set purposely.

Mini oc 9s of stars actually sell well and for more than straight 7s.

I have purchased a few boxes of 75 minis in my years of collecting .The Yount is quite often off center however there will always be a market for the Yount and Brett and Ryan for sure in OC 9 condition.

Yes, that is 100% typical of the minis. That's why I love the set when I find a Mint one. They are so tough. I've opened boxes where just about every card was badly miscut or severely tilted. The centering issues with this set are unreal. I don't think Topps knew how to cut the minis properly.

If and when you find a centered Yount or Brett, then you're in luck! Good Luck...

In the old mini thread I detailed blow-by-blow a case break were 85% plus of the cards were basically miscut the centering was so bad T/B. I threw most of them away. Did get 3 very strong Aarons (two 9s and an 8 but I swear at least one of them is a 10) and a perfect Alou (PSA9) among other gems. Over the years, I have been steadfast in my assessment that full-sized (not cut) mini 9s with strong centering are the most undervalued cards from the 70s (with the understanding that 1971 PSA 9s are harder but priced correctly). The Yount IMO is vastly more difficult than the Brett due to the especially bad centering you'll find with that particular color combination. By far, the minis are the most challenging and flavorful (so many side stories) set I have collected thus far.

I'm speechless...actually, it's the phone's fault. Thanks for all the cool replies. Can't wait to post some scans for feedback later this weekend. A couple good ones amongst some funny miscuts.

Not sure I did the upload correctly, but if I did I apologize as I took the photo's from my phone as I don't have a scanner yet. I put the Yount in here and have a stack that are cut the same way. The other cards were the ones not so bad. Again, the question is...should I submit to PSA since the corners are sharp and the surface and pictures are great. Thanks for your input.

No, I would not grade any now that I have seen the scans. Zero chance the Yount lands in a 9 oc. Much more likely it would be returned ungraded as miscut.

I agree. It is miscut and will not get OC.
