Any chance this 1979 Topps Ozzie Smith can avoid an MC designation?

I know the minimum back centering is 90/10 for a PSA 7 or 8 and I have never sent in a card for grading with centering this off. Any opinions from someone who has would be appreciated.

By the way, the edges are straight....the slight curl made the right edge look odd in the scan

You might get an o/c, but I doubt you'll get a straight, no qualifier grade.

It does not look like you will get a M/C. However, an O/C is a different story.

Edited to add: AH, MUCH better scan! Def NOT M/C. But O/C, as that back is a little better than 95/5.

As an answer to your question in the title of the thread I present the following card. You never know what might happen.

  • By PSA's standards, the card is not miscut. Shouldn't even be an OC because of nice front centering. Subbed plenty of cards that are similar on the back without getting a qualifier.

Thanks for the responses...I'll probably send it in with my next submission.

I have a 78 Fidrych that is very similar to that in the back and it does not have an OC qualifier.

I agree with it may get a no qualifier. Have many like yours with straight grades. Nice Ozzie.
