Heritage Auction - Unopened

hey Heritage has some big time unopened packs in their new auction; i did think i noticed that the Schmidt cello rookie packs with possible "red flags" with the wrong code on back. Can you anyone confirm? looking at others, but concerned if the auction includes possible red flagged packs.

Comments

  • Yes sir, stay clear. That auction is loaded with potential home made cellos from our old friend Jose. A number of them have the wrong year on the wrapper. Many of them line up with images from his photo bucket account. While this all doesn't point to absolute proof it sure sounds many of the alarm bells.

He still lists stuff on Ebay from time to time, however appears to moving large amounts of star on top cellos to auction houses. Some of his other handy packs are being re-sold on ebay by others who may or may not know they are fake.

What about the wax packs in the Heritage Auction?
I wonder if those were submitted by same person?
    Are they questionable?
  • No the comments are only applicable to cellos and in particular cellos with stars showing.

The bad Schmidt cello with the wrong wrapper was taken down. There is still one up for sale but that one has correct wrapper. All 73 cellos should bear a product code ending with 2 on back.

Has anyone had any good unopened transactions with Heritage? Their "we don't guarantee that any of this is actually any good" disclaimer has always turned me off.

Interesting a guy name jose is moving star on top cellos on heritage and while i was looking at a net54 thread some 3 weeks ago
a guy name jose also, exposed heritage for selling this packs and that is the reason why the bad schmidt pack was taking down.

Same Jose. He's stated he's doing this to expose those that don't know the difference but have proclaimed themselves experts.
I know the FBI had investigated but he claims they dropped the investigation and he's free to do what he wants.
Not sure why anyone would collect cellos in this environment, especially ones with stars showing.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • I've never followed heritage's auctions the way I do memory lane, mile high, or ebay. The site seems cluttered and hard to navigate.

There was some idiot that dumped 17k+ on a GAI 52 Topps Wax pack on there site a few months ago when there is YouTube videos showing GAI wax packs being opened with different year cards in it. They could have bought every major 52 star card for that $.

<< <i>Wasn't there someone on the BST page a few days ago wanting to buy resealed packs? >>

Yeah, I think this is going to be a little more than I'm willing to pay though.
