Rippin' 1993 SP

Okay, so I'm a little excited and I can't really tell my girlfriend about it because she'll just look at me and smile with a hint of pity in her eyes...

I've got two boxes of 1993 SP Football coming in the mail tomorrow and I'm looking forward to tearing through them. Hoping for a PSA 10 quality Bettis, but it's going to be a fun rip no matter what I end up pulling. I'll holler back with the finds once I've got 'em open.

My thoughts exactly. Fun to open for the money but the foils are definately tough to 10 but not impossible. There's a reason they replicated the design of recent...because they are sweet!

Probably just lie in the fetal position and cry a little bit.

Yeah, I know these cards are gonna be tough, but I plan on slabbing anything that looks like a possible 10 - including anything that routinely sells for more than $20. I just checked the tracking number and it's out for delivery right now, which makes being at work suck even more. Soon...

Hi Mike- I'm actually building all the SP and SP Authentic football sets from 1993-2011 for the Registry. The foil RC's for 93 are tough. I have about 15,000 singles to go through for 10 worthy submissions. Good luck with your cards and leet us know the result. Even if you don't get a 10, surely 9's go for good coin too right? And you can get a quality Bettis no matter how tough it is! Just like how asthma doesn't stop the Bus, the tough odds don't have to stop you!

Nice pulls on the football.

I'm going to rip into a box of 93 sp baseball next week. Box is sealed but has a slight musk scent to it. Hope it was stored ok. Wish me luck.

Not Kruks.
Maybe not musky, it's not mildewy. It just feels like it's been packed away for a long time. Not fresh. But that's expected. I just hope it wasn't in an attic.
