BBCE on eBay question

Has anyone bought from BBCE on eBay? If so, are the boxes they sell there the same quality as on their site? Do they come with the same BBCE seal? Thanks,

Steve

I haven't bought anything from them on eBay, but I trust that if BBCE is selling it - it's all the same quality. Reputation is the same, no matter the selling platform.

I've purchased a ton of low-end boxes from them before. I was very happy with the results. This was before their custom shrink wrap, so I have no idea if they do that with their ebay items.

I have bid on many over the years, but never win anything. Most of it goes over what I think is a bargain. I think that is because of the reputation they have. I also think BBCE uses those final ebay prices as a guide to see what market value is and what their pricing on their website is set at.

  • I have often set snipes on boxes/cases they run as true auctions. Usually set snipe just a few bucks under their asking price on their website and rarely won anything. Often the prices far exceed the website prices.

To answer the question, the boxes I have won (with the exception of lower end products) were shrinkwrapped with the BBCE card in it.

I recently won some 1989 donruss and 1989 fleer baseball boxes that were good quality but not shrink wrapped. I was not expecting them to be wrapped. So you are safe to purchase with 100% confidence on eBay with them.

Yeah, given my few interactions with Steve and BBCE, I have every confidence buying from them on eBay. I probably worded my initial post poorly asking about the quality of the boxes. I am sure anything they sell via their site or eBay is of equal quality. I was mainly wondering if the boxes from eBay received the BBCE seal or not because the auction I was looking at showed boxes that didn't have the signature seal. They are fairly low end boxes so I am not expecting the seal but it is always nice to have.

I actually ended up winning the auction. It was for four boxes of 1989 Pro Set 2. I ended up getting a pretty good deal on the boxes. I think the set is underrated as it has the same loaded class as the 89 Score but sells for 1/15 the price. I think the in action photos for the rookies (particularly the Barry Sanders RC) are much better looking in the Pro Set than the Score. Fun boxes at a great price. Can't beat that!

In my experience, no BBCE shrink wrap (though the 90s Bowman boxes I bought still had the original Topps shrink wrap). For all the raves here, I wasn't impressed with their packaging. Boxes of cards were thrown in the corner of a much larger box and topped with peanuts, casing a heavy corner that had obviously been dropped on by the shipper. Boxes were not display quality, but fine for ripping.
