eBay Resolution - How long should I wait?

How long should I wait to receive a response on an eBay resolution case before I call it and leave negative feedback? It hasn't been nearly long enough to be reasonable, just interested in hearing from others. I was thinking two weeks?

I received a card, with damage that wasn't visible in the auction photo and not described. The damage was essentially dents from pressure on the top surface near the edge. It was sent in a penny & top loader and packaged only in a regular paper envelope. So, I think the shipping may have caused the damage. It wasn't terribly expensive but in terms of cards, it was much more than a common card. I requested a refund or replacement of the same card/variation. It has only been a few days, so I'm not even worried yet. How long do I wait with no response? I was thinking a couple of weeks and then a couple of days in case they had gone on vacation. Thoughts?

3 days then open a case. Thats gets most sellers attention. He is probably hoping you go away.

Waiting a couple of weeks.?! No way. Most people check their emails (even when on vacation). As someone mentioned, wait a few more days and then open a case. You should get a response after that.

I escalated the case today, after having been opened with no reply from the seller. eBay refunded my purchase through PayPal same-day, case resolved.

Did you return the card or kept it?

Should I be returning the card, considering the seller didn't communicate with me in any way after the sale?

Had they responded asking me to return the card for a refund I would have. I've had other sellers replace a card that was not as described and I returned the original to them upon request.

I don't plan to return the card in this case, however, the card is pretty much useless so it's not going to benefit me in any way.

I would send the card back since you got your money back. I would be pissed if I sold a card to someone and during shipping there was a ding in the corner and the person filed a claim, got his money back and kept the card. If you returned something to a store they don't let you keep the product and give you your money back, right?

It seems the point is the seller never responded. It seems as if the seller would have responded with "return the card, I'll pay shipping and I'll refund your money" the buyer would have been glad to do that.
I'm with the buyer on this one with the info that's been shared so far.
