Orlando hotels

Has anyone stayed at the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando when attending FUN? It looks a little far away on the map compared to the Rosen Center and Rosen Plaza and the Hyatt Regency (previously named Peabody). Security is worth something.

That is definitely within walking distance from the convention center, and I would feel 100% secure walking there. It is not a bad part of town.

I stayed there for Summer FUN. It was just okay - I don't think I'd go back again.
Wasn't too comfortable being there - the room smelled of old stale beer on the carpet,
although a non smoking room, you could tell someone had been smoking in it recently.
Older cheap looking decor. Kids running past the room at all hours of the night yelling.
    I won't get another room again with a cat-walk.

Stay at the other Rosen hotels ( there are two : The Plaza and The Center ) or at the
old Peabody - now a Hyatt - which has a walk over directly to the convention center.

When did the Peabody switch over to the Hyatt?

Stayed there once a few years ago. All rooms open from open air balcony/walkways and was a bit breezy in January. Stay somewhere else. JMHO
