90's basketball cards...HOT PACKS???

I'm looking at a few Jordan cards on ebay and one is a 95-96 Ultra Scoring Kings Michael Jordan "HOT PACKS" CARD. I noticed some of these cards don't say hot packs and some do. What exactly is the difference? Are the ones that say Hot Packs more valuable?

  • Fleer did a thing back in the 90s where you could randomly get an entire insert set in a single pack of cards. The only difference in the cards was a foil stamp on the front that said "Hot Pack." Beckett currently lists that Jordan at $25.00 for each version.

Beckett used to have a note below the set description and said HP cards .1X to .25X hi book of the regular version. I am not sure if that is still the case as I have not looked at a Beckett Magazine in some time.

Good point. I checked the listing for another Hot Pack set (using an online Beckett guide), and it showed that Hot Pack versions are worth 40% of the regular price.
