Graded Packs vs Non Graded Packs

I am working on an 80-81 OPC Hockey Box, which has 48 packs (currently have 32). Unfortunately, full boxes are not easy to come by (I am fortunate to have 1). I have been picking up graded packs here and there PSA 9 & PSA 8's.

My question, and it doesn't have to apply to this box, would collectors rather have a box with all of the packs graded or just a regular box wrapped by BBCE?

Also, is it more value to have all the packs graded?

I am interested to here what he group has to say, since we have so many collectors of unopened as well as a lot of members who have packs graded.

Many Thanks,

Peter

Given the choices, I think most collectors would prefer a regular box wrapped by BBCE than 48 graded packs. 48 graded packs is not the same a box of cards.

  • I'd rather have the regular wax box. There are enough dealers out there I'd trust buying from. Not everyone agrees with that but just about everyone trusts a source like BBCE and in my mind there's no need grading a pack from a quality dealer. Although I've seen some pretty awesome graded pack collections.

This is non sport but this is an example of box with all graded pack. Sounds like something that might be good for selling since you have the option to sell the packs piece by piece. But this doesn't appeal to me in this state.
