Pack grading

I found some packs that I'd like to have graded. Should I go with PSA or BGS and why? Pro's/Con's? Thanks!

    Psa...BGS does not grade packs.
  • Can you do this even if you're not a member of PSA?

Yes. You do not have to be a member to sub packs to PSA.

I see a lot of this..... "I can't grade with PSA because I'm not a member". They need to address this because it's costing them costing them business.

You do have to be a member to submit cards, though.

I'm not personally submitting to psa or purchasing any more psa graded wax packs until they make a holder that prevents damage. Submit wax at your own risk. Cellos are fine in my experience.

Very true, unfortunately. If the gum is mobile in the pack, packs are prone to wrapper tears during transit. I wish they would use the shrinkwrap they sometimes do in the holder to help prevent this. The lack of pressure on the pack is the culprit, imo, and why this issue does not occur in the soft holder GAI uses.

You don't need to be a member to submit cards, you just don't get the monthly specials.

That is true; I always use monthly special so forgot about that. The membership pays for itself with vouchers and monthly specials though.

Not to mention the SMR mag. I love the articles and would pay the membership price just for a subscription!
