Fake 1916-D Merc on the 'Bay

Just spotted this one. I reported it.

Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

    Fake as in added MM? Or fake as in Made in China?

    I don't know where exactly it was cast but it is cast.

    Note the "dimple" in front of her temple. The poorly formed letters in America.

    blobs at the bottom of "ME" in "DIME" plus the MM is off.

  • I'm new to this but it looks like the designers initials are messed up too. Blobbed on so to speak. Also, the detail in the wings is off and the hair coming out from under the "helmet" on her neck looks like brain matter instead of hair. He's only sold one other item, a 1936-D Washington Quarter and it looks fake too. He's also selling vials of "silver flake" if that says anything. ha ha.
