I hate to ask but I'll never learn if I don't, what is it about the coin that makes it look fake to you? I notice she looks considerably grumpier than an authentic one. ha ha. When they're like the one I'm posting the link too, they're pretty easy. Also, I think this seller bought a roll of various dates because every one of their coins look this way. The amount of porosity in this one is crazy, especially between the e and r on the obverse. Like I said, I'm just trying to learn as much as I can and what I've learned on this website so far is invaluable. Great bunch of people in this forum. fake peace?

the easiest way to tell from that coin if you can't do it by experience is to just put that image side-by-side with others you are confident are authentic. then you will see it is such a poor quality counterfeit, you'll be surprised they got making the coin round correct lol - also, it is not silver. .
Wow. The hair features (curls and such) are completely different, not to mention the basic "look" on her face. And between the ribbon and the first set of curls towards the bottom, the fake didn't fill the hair in there so it looks like a finger sticking out of the back of her neck. Thanks for the info!

The more I look, the more I see. The serif on the "N" in UNITED is missing on the top left corner and on the "T"'s, it protrudes to each side but on the authentic one I'm looking at, the serif on the "T" only goes to the left. Oh so much to learn. With the UMUM error, that should add at least 20% of nothing to it's value.

you didn't miss anything. it was a terrible example and there wasn't much to learn from it except from the most novice of coin collector/dealer.
