    Congrats to the Pirates.

    I HATE DUSTY BAKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Reds will never get to the next level unless we get someone different. Just look at his track record.

Major, major props to the fans! Scrunchy wrote a good article that focused on their enthusiasm at the game.

<< <i>Whether Cueto dropping the baseball while getting ready to face Russell Martin had anything to do with the chants is anyone's guess, and it's hard to say for certain if Martin's home run on the next pitch had anything to do with Cueto losing focus. But it sure seems as though the fans, and their chants, may have played a role in all of this. >>

I'd actually like that, and probably try to watch it. We have different water here in Seattle, so we don't churn out winners like in Oakland, and I have to root for the teams the "experts" don't pick.

I could not agree more. In my mind, the Reds were defeated before the game even started because of Baker. If he believes his team was mentally prepared for this game, he is even more inept than I thought. This team has no leadership. If I was Castellini, spending 3.5 million on eating Baker's contract is more important than getting a bullpen arm or a positon player in free agency.

the reds went through so many pitchers in that game...lol....just plain glorious for the pirates...they(and the city of pittsburgh) have alot to be proud of! lets hope they have the momentum to to get past the cardinals(judging by the enthusiasm of their fans and the energy on the field, id say they are pumped for the playoffs!....a world series at pnc would be so sick!
  • Been a long time coming. The last time The Pirates won a playoff game, cassettes were still king. CD sales first outsold cassettes in 1993.

Yeah it does, because now we're going to be regaled with the stories about how St. Louis fans are the best in baseball. Blech.

Nice run by the Bucs, though.
  • If the Pirates couldve used Liriano twice during the series, it mightve had a different outcome. But they just couldnt hit the ball the last two games.

I hope the dodgers win. The cardinals have won enough recently.

Not to mention this will be Donnie Baseball's chance to go to the Series! image I already warned my wife that if it's a Dodgers/Red Sox World Series (remember she's from Greater Boston) I might have to root against her team...so don't be at all surprised if me and my cat might have to sleep outside for the next several days...image

Dang!! I was hoping for a Tigers vs Pirates WS.
  • One Pirates drought streak continues. They have not won a playoff series since 1979.
