I sent him a message with all the info and what to look for in the bar code and the links to PCGS and Heritage. So now we know he's been sent at least two messages about it so it will be interesting to see if he decides to do the right thing or wait until Ebay contacts him.

Reported----it is still there. And thanks for the thread--I appreciate all the threads about counterfeits and all the counterfeit information I can get. Thanks again.
I had ONE dealer ask me ONE time to submit an 1889 CC to PCGS. I told him it was not real. Since HE is the expert (self proclaimed, and a genius I won't deny), I had 2 options. Say yes and appease him (it was his money), or say "no". I opted to do it with ONE stipulation. "if I'm right, and it's fake, NEVER ask me to submit another coin for you". It was and he hasn't. TGIHD (thank goodness it's hump day)
There have been a few of these going around. I had a white coin come into my office a few weeks ago. AU-50 1889-CC. Reverse looked MS-64. Fake coin, holder and label.
That seller is a 3rd party consignment company. So whoever has the fake coin, takes it to them, they sell it, pay the owner minus a fee. The counterfeiter is hoping to get his money and run before the fake is discovered. The victim will then be the consignment company that gets hit with the charge-back.
Its very early on the west-coast. I bet that when they open and read the emails they will be removing it swiftly.
Note: The PCGS logo on the lower right part of the slab looks terrible!
I'm actually in contact with him and trying to find out where/who/how he acquired the coin. Might get a lead to the source. If not, at least the effort was made and hopefully one less in the market.
