New September Show in Pennsylvania starting in 2014

As many of you know, I have promoted Coin Shows for many years. Gettysburg has not had a show for over 30 years whenever Guy Whidden stopped promoting it. Today, I am proud to announce the Battlefield Coin Show™ in Gettysburg on Sept 20th and 21st 2014 at the Eisenhower Hotel and Conference Center in the Ballroom. There will be 100 tables, with room to expand to over 200. The Eisenhower has graciously agreed to offer a special rate of only $74 per night for dealers and show attendees. There is plenty of free parking and a trolly direct to downtown Gettysburg. Gettysburg offers many tourist activities and boasts a factory outlet mall. Should you wish to make it a family vacation, there is something for everyone!

On my "Trip of Barbers" held a couple of years ago, I spent a day in Gettysburg - visiting my good friend and Barber collector,
TOMBR - who some of us may remember - he sold off his Halves - I buying the lions share - but he gave me a very in depth
tour of the battlefields and the surrounding areas. It was the most moving tour I had ever had anywhere. I highly recommend
going to this show if for no other reason than to tour the country side.

That would be a great time to visit Gettysburg again. The summer heat should be mostly over. The battle field should be seen by all Americans.

Wow Mike I looked at The Eisenhower Hotel's website and this looks like a fantastic location for a Coin Show.

The conference rooms look very spacious and well lit.

  • I live walking distance to the place and I gotta say its an "ok" place. Ever since the casino was suppose to go there and got shut down they let it go some. Is it going to be in the hotel hallways? or in the sports complex where the civil war relic show is now? I HATED when they had it in the halls since it was elbow to elbow! The sports complex is nicer then the hotel!

If anyone needs info on a good place to stay and on the cheaper end let me know!
  • as for the trolley dont hold your breath it will still be around come the show. Right now the Gettysburg foundation is paying to let everyone ride for free and has been for the last year or two, Before that (when you had to pay a dollar) out of all the trolleys they had they averaged 6 riders an hour on all lines. Talk in town now points to the trolley going the way of the horse and buggy

as for the "outlet mall" DONT expect outlet prices. There is no such thing anymore. Its the main shopping point in town but deals are few and far between!

GBurger717, You make it sound as if the sky is falling in Gettysburg. Thanks for the downer! I frequent the outlet shoppes often and find them to have decent prices. Decent, not yardsale prices.

  • MICHAELDIXON- I dont want to make it sound that way. I look foward to the show in all honesty but the truth is the truth even if it hurts. If you would have known Gettysburg 20 years ago to what it is today you would understand what I am getting at. Its all about the money in this town money money money!!! I wish this show the best and hope it does well. I hope it comes back year after year. Sorry to sound like a grump
