Humble Circulation Finds

These are not special but I do like receiving things like this in circulation. Over the past three days I have received:

1951-D cent
1948 nickel
1964-D nickel
1979-D dollar
1979-S dollar

Finding these always feels like winning a little prize. They are little moments to savor in otherwise busy and stressful days.

The two dollars are already back in circulation. The others are soon to follow.

(but 1bil 64 nickels and 1.5bil 64d nickels were minted. those are common as dirt)

True, but I don't see them that much anymore. I remember in the 1970s it seemed like every other nickel in circulation was a '64 but now I am actually happy to get them.

Is there a premium on 1964 nickels?

No. I just like getting older coins in circulation, especially hose with mintmarks on the reverse.

Yesterday I rescued a 1946-D dime from the coinstar reject slot. Poor little guy was left there with two Canadians. Gosh I love finding silver.

I've been finding quite a few wheat pennies lately. This year the earliest I've found include a 1909 and a 1920.
All coins kept in bank vaults.

I found a 1913 the other day in a BWR search - nothing like finding a 100 year old coin in a roll(of course the teller that sold me the box of cents got her obligatory reward) - she sold me some CWR back in August that produced a 1903 IHC - I think she is a good luck charm.

Let me add to this comment. Is there a premium on any circulated Jefferson's from 38-60 with the exception of the 38 and 39 Branch mint, War nickels and the 50-D (which all go into tubes)? If so I have an ammo box of them that were taken right out of books that I would like to get rid of. I am not one to look for the varieties.

Most of the semi-keys (such as 1938, 1942D,1949S, 1950,1951S,1955) carry modest premiums, but may not be worth the time to sort through mixed rolls.
