'78 Topps Baseball: Along came a Speier.

got a set off eBay awhile back and the Murray was miscut and the Moli/Tram was horrible as well, so i didn't take to kindly to the seller......or, at least i wasn't in the mood to leave pos. feedback for a set that was advertised as MINT, with 2 of the key cards f'd up and buried inside.

not so fast cowboy. image

finally got around to taking a real good look at a few of the OTHER cards in the set and found what i assume are a couple of the tougher examples, at least according to past history and the Pop Report.

would love to hear opinions on Speier of course, as it shows the slightest amount of speckling and a tiny surface scratch, but dang what a beauty.....hoping for a 9 here.

also really feel good about the Parker card, another toughie in high grade. Tom looks terrific, and Reggie is just about stirring my drink.

The overall centering and cut on the Speier is very nice , but I cannot see how it will avoid a ( PD ) qualifier .

    +1

That is also one of the reasons as much as centering that this card is so tough.

The Parker and Seaver cards are super nice, though!

  • no prob with the humble opinions, just what i need to know....i have visually compared the Speier to other examples and that speckled print might be just light enough to get by with an upward arc for eye appeal. to me it looks more enhanced in a big scan, but in hand the print doesn't look too imposing.

    certainly worth a shot.

Would they give the Spier a MK for that black mark on the top border?? JW??
