Rookie 1st submission ? Or ?'s

Knew I shouldn't but bought some 1975 mini topps packs from a guy online. So far my experience reentering this world has not been pleasant. More on that later. Anyways, bought 2 and one had a beautiful Ryan, a little off center, maybe. Otherwise perfect. Def a 9. Poss a ten. So I purchased his remaining 13 packs. ..Hank Aaron, Carter rookie, and two other big stars.

Question is...what's the best way to submit 1-4 cards to PSA? Just pay the $35 per, wait for a group sub, something about a red or blue flip which I don't know what that means, wait for discounts, how frequent are those, become a PSA member for a discount? I prob will only be submitting a few cards every once in a while.
Thx guys,
Rob

Best suggestion? Scan and post the cards here for fellow board members to evaluate prior to sending in.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

What are the values of those cards? If they are not over $500 each, then you can submit under the "Regular" $17 rate -

    REGULAR
    $17
    10 BUSINESS DAYS
Any card with a declared value under $500 and all supersized cards must be submitted at this service level or higher. Excludes autographed cards.

If they are not over $250, then you can take advantage of the Set Registry Special -

$10 per Item – No Minimum – 20 Business Days (approx.)

Man, I know I said that same thing when I first subbed.

Do not pay $35 per card to get those graded. Unless the thrill of subbing justifies the expense. Lord knows I have overpaid to get things quicker.

Don't worry about blue/red flips - they are for autographs.

If you suspect the Ryan is even a tad off-center, it will not grade higher than a 9. But it's not a 9. I can tell you - without even seeing the card - that it is a 7, maybe an 8 on a good day.

  • Probably a dumb question butnhow can I declare it's value when it depends on the received PSA grade? And how do I upload a scan?
    Thx very much

For declared value, I would just put what it would be worth in an 8.

I would find a board member to piggyback the monthly member specials.

I might be speaking out of place, but I highly recommend bobby8469 from the board as he has always been gracious in allowing a few others to piggy on his subs.
