Took a work-related jaunt to New York three weeks ago, and there was next to no chance of me leaving the state without visiting Cooperstown for a second time. If the HoF resides somewhere on your bucket list, it honestly would behoove you to start nudging it toward the top. Even the drive to get there is not what you'd expect -- winding rural roads that ultimately lead you to a small utopian town for baseball zealots.
chelseafc11 created an uber sweet thread a few months ago documenting his time there, so I did my best to minimize the dupes. But let's face it, a lot of stuff from the Hall is worth seeing many times over. On many occasions I fought the lighting and the horde, so here's hoping my additions will suffice for enjoyment purposes. For every placard you see, the relic will immediately ensue.
Leading off is arguably my favorite item from the Hall. Not a jersey, not a hat, not a glove, not a ball -- but the 1952 scouting report on Roberto Clemente prior to him becoming, well, Roberto Clemente. Rather revealing.......and prescient.
Baez - if you view this thread, I thought about you when I saw this Santurce photo, brother!
A veritable log this is. 40+ ozs, without question.
Speaking of 40+ ozs...
Think Teddy Ballgame could turn on a pitch?
I'd be remiss if I didn't include my boy...
I used to call Pedro J "The baddest 175-lb man on the planet."
The Mick's '51 Bowman is derived from this photo, taken during spring training in March of that year.
Wasn't too terribly surprised by these remnants.
Three innings of shutout ball.........I wonder what I'll be doing at 59?
Pud Galvin -- first to 300
Doesn't look like much got by Frankie Frisch...
You'll never look at another Gary Redus card the same way.
An experimentation by the Braves -- nighttime unis! I think I once wore something similar to a club.....and went home alone.
According to legend, Fidel once had wicked stuff. Ok, maybe not.
Jackie Robinson's ROY glove
The Negro League section is nothing short of incredible...
Nuke!
Gehrig, Robinson and Clemente
A ton of exquisite cardboard on display...
...including a slick Wagner.
Nearby Doubleday Field (a HS game was actually played there earlier in the day)
Finally, Cooperstown is lined with card/memorabilia shops. I saw this sign in one of them and found it somewhat amusing, but I quickly came to and recalled all of the stories my father told me about my grandmother. Needless to say, I walked off in utter disgust.
Hope everyone enjoyed!!

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
