Ticket stub from Ripken streak

Hey guys:

A question for ticket collectors: I saw a listing on EBay for a stub from the last game of Ripken's streak, the last one he played. I have a stub from the next night, when he sat out for the first time (Sept. 20, 1998), and always considered that a collectible. is something like this worth getting slabbed? I collect 70's cards, not much into tickets, but I was wondering if it was worth grading. It's not in great shape, likely a "4" or so, just wondered if authenticating it would add value, if there's any to begin with. Thanks!

There is definitely some value to the ticket, but I doubt that you would add $25 to the value by getting it slabbed since it is not in prestine condition. There isn't a registry set for this type of milestone, so I don't see anyone paying extra for a graded one. Have you checked the pop report to see if anyone else is grading them?

IMO the value is in the ticket from game 2632 (since no one but Cal actually knew it was his last). The game where he sat out & didn't play the next evening has some value, but not worthy of slabbing (unless you just want to protect it).
