That seller routine offers unopened packs for ridiculous prices with no hope of ever selling them. They've had a 1979 cello pack listed at $200 for the past 6 years.
The market is not that crazy......yet.

<< <i>This price on this auction is way beyond crazy though. 1984 Topps wax boxes normally go for about $65+ >>
Exactly.

This guy has posted this box a bunch of times at this price for a long time. (Over a year I believe) I think they were around $45 a box the first time I noticed his at $500. But all of his auctions are way overpriced, with the best offer option. I checked a couple of his completed auctions and he accepted offers that were half the asking price. He won't get that much offered on this box during this decade, but maybe he's really patient.

As long as the big spenders stay in this market, it will only keep prices high.
If these guys exit the game, then you may see some decline. No one knows if that will ever happen.

What a waste of listing space.
<< <i>Cmon. Steve's selling these for 75. Rack box is 100.

Totally agree!!
Who are the big spenders and why 80's product?
Don't get me wrong. I love 80's cards and have purchased more than my share.
However I must admit I don't get the hysteria that apears to be happening now. Not much of this stuff seems truly rare.
To each his own I guess.
