I've never seen one either. I know SGC has traditionally graded wrong backs
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
<< <i>How does a baseball card end up with a football back?? >>
No clue. Printers set up scrap?? I checked pop reports for Psa and there is no "wrong back" listing but Beckett has one on there reports and it looks like a pop 2.
I sent in two 1974 Killebrew front Garr back cards for grading as "wrongbacks" cards were returned ungraded and follow up calls to PSA got me no where.

I noticed while doing a little research on my Killebrew card that there are quite a few "wrongbacks" out there from 1974.
What I don't understand, is if a print defect like the Billy Ripken FF card or the Frank Thomas NNOF are variations then why not when the entire sheet gets printed with the incorrect back?
Also opens up the door for a LOT more submissions. Seems to be a win/win situation for PSA to grade "wrongbacks". Not to mention that they grade cards already as variations with different backs in the pre-war cards. I realize this is a little different, but still................

I have a 1974 Winfield front/Hoerner back, in a PSA slab. I also have a 1974 Bucky Dent front/Harold Lanier back in a PSA slab. Both are PSA 8, and I suspect PSA did not mean to slab them, because I have not seen others (though they may exist).

Both my Killebrew's were at one time graded 8's, however they were labeled as a regular Killebrew card. I guess they don't read the backs.
Is your Winfield labeled as Winfield with Hoerner back or just Winfield with no other notation?
