9 Year Old Expired Redemption Card

We all know what Topps would do with a 9 Year old expired redemption card but guess what Press Pass did.

The 9 Year old expired Redemption card: I contacted them through the web site. Lisa from Press Pass said she was not sure if they had them but to send it in.

After: I sent it in and this is what I got #80/100. Lug Nut, Sheet Metal and Used Racing Tire from Jeff Gordon. Way to go Press Pass!

From what I have read on here lately, if that was a Topps Redemption Card and it expired 01/31/14 you would still have a tough time collecting! LOL
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

  • That's a cross cut of the lug, I take it?
  • Great Stuff Val! What did you pull the redemption from?

  • Interesting that the serial number is different from the redemption. Hell, I would've requested #24 since they cleary didn't redeem too many of them.

It came from a 2003 pack. I thought they might have them in the closet so I contacted them from the www.PressPassinc.com site. I was surprised I didn't get the original #65 but assume that they started from #1 and worked their way up as they were redeemed. That's why I collect the older cards and wax. Unlike the other companies Press Pass redemptions are still good. I have heard where Press Pass did not have something years later but fulfilled the redemption with something equal value and from the same driver.

From a company that has a monopoly on racing they never stop innovating and their customer service is the best.

So if you see a BoxPack of Press Pass you know they stand behind the product.
  • Wow that is great to know, fantastic customer service.

Did I miss the part where you had to run this through the BBB or they offered you a Dwight Gooden auto in lieu of?

Nope, I just sent an email to a generic email address and Lisa used her own Press Pass email address to reply back to me.

We chatted back and forth about the address to send it to, since they moved office spaces and who’s attention to address it to.

She told me to put her attention on the envelope! This expired on 1/31/2004

Absolutely fantastic example of customer service.

  • That's how bad it's gotten. We are in awe of simple good customer service as if we've never seen it before. It's sad. We're reduced to thinking of it positively because we never know if we're going to see it again.

I had a similar thing happen with a 5 year old Terry Labonte redemption. I didn't get the exact card but I did get a Terry Labonte autograph from the same year as the redemption card.
Press Pass has always treated me well.

  • That's awesome. Take note, Topps. This is how you run a business.

While I understand this comment, I don't agree with it.

What Press Pass did was not just 'good' customer service. The OP contacted them about a redemption card that expired when Bush Jr. was still in office. PP could have simply said 'sorry that card expired too many years ago' and I think most of us would have said 'Oh well' and not 'How could they do this?'. What they did was 'great' customer service and they deserve our praise for it. Unlike the Topps horror stories which I think border on criminal.

In short, don't let some other companies' bad CS take away from the excellent service PP provided.
