Scanning question v330 users

I've been scanning some cards and notice that, especially for a bigger card like a 56, that the inner rail that sits against the edge of the card makes a shadow on the card edge. It's usually the edge closest to the lamp as starts scanning.

Aside from trying to move card around which makes me nervous, does anyone have a setting they use to alleviate this? See edge closest to flip.

Try turning the card around 180 degrees and see if that helps, then use your photo program to rotate it.

As far as I know none of the Epson scanners scan to the edge of the frame. I just put a plastic 12 inch ruler against the long edge (fits perfectly), and use that as my new edge.

The OP means the shadow from part of the slab affecting ability to view the card's edge.

OP, try scanning the card at a 45 degree angle on the scanner, then rotate the image. Or, as JoeBanzai said, rotate the card 180 from whichever cardedge is close to scan edge.

I guess orienting it to the side that the edge is not covered by rail is best option.
    And cheapest.
