Someone pointed out these Magic The Gathering cards to me in 2010 and I recall the black lotus card being in the $1500 range in similar condition. It seems these have continued to sky rocket in value.
<< <i>I can think of about 5,700 other ways to spend $5700 >>
Unfortunately I think that can be said of virtually every dollar I have spent in the hobby. I enjoy my collection, but in the cosmic scheme of things, they are just pieces of cardboard. Who is to say whether the money is better spent on whatever that thing is , or a 1967 Topps Richie Allen Stand Up I bought recently . This buyer would likely think my money could have been better spent as well

Well said.
If this thread was started a few years ago 90% or more of the board would have laughed at the price that was paid for a Black Lotus card. Today the people laughing are the one's who invested in the Magic The Gathering cards. At the end of the day cards are cards.

Exactly what my wife says when I get a package from the USPO that I've been chomping at the bit waiting for. I have another obsession called a "boat" that people don't seem to understand unless I'm inviting them to go fishing
Interested in 60's and 70's psa and raw star and hof cards
