Be careful who you trust with your credit card information

Just a general warning to my fellow collectors. I got an email and call this morning informing me someone used my credit card yesterday at a CVS in Connecticut while it was safely in my wallet.. in New Jersey. The only people I give this card information to are hobby related vendors (auction houses, stores, dealers, etc.). So be careful.

The credit card company said that someone had basically obtained my card number, CREATED their own physical card and attempted to use it inside a store.
There are places in the more secretive areas of the web where you can purchase stolen credit card information. This card information gets collected through hacking someone you did business with or through someone physically duplicating info from your card, such as a corrupt server at a restaurant taking your card when you pay, then duplicating the info on it before returning the card to you.

My point is that it might not be an auction house or dealer, it could well be someone inside the financial institution. Not all bank fraud originates from Wall St.
