I have a pre-40 penny pile weighing 16.05 lbs which calculates out to about 2,360 pennies (16.05/34 * 5,000).

These came from albums and a hoard of pre-1940 rolls I recently purchased.
There are no culls in this lot.
A sampling shows about 28% to be pre-1930.
