Cards to slab

So, I don't really collect modern. Mainly a vintage guy. However, this year I decided to bust quite bit of modern, just for the hell of it. I'm hoping that I can get some of this stuff slabbed, sell it, and generate some cash to buy more vintage.

Any suggestions on what players to go for? Thanks!

  • Jose Fernandez (Miami Marlins) I'm sure is going to win rookie of the year so there's a start.

If your looking to generate cash then I would stick to what you know and that is vintage. Try buying and selling that because jumping into modern is a whole different animal.
  • Well, I've got some modern laying around and my hope is to slab some of it to generate some cash to purchase more vintage. Any suggestions? I have some Darvish and some Puig.

    Alex Rodriguez
Looking for a Glen Rice Inkredible and Alex Rodriguez cards
  • Puig autos are still hot. I feel Yu is calming down a bit but grading low serial numbered autos is a good play.
The modern stuff fluctuates a lot. I ended up with a lot of base cards but some nice pulls. Draft is always a good way to go - inception was good this year for baseball. Tribute and museum are nice cards.
No matter what it is you need to be able to flip it fast near release while its hot to maximize your return on the base. Key inserts and autos are worth getting graded to flip. Refractors are real tough surface wise to get 10s.
