My 2 Year Bird, Magic Dr J. Odyssey is finally complete!!!!

I'm not on the boards as nearly as I once was, but I do want to share this piece with this community. It started two years ago this month as I decided to tackle on this project of getting the 1980 Topps Bird Magic rookie signed along with Julius Erving. Here's my chronological order of my journey. I do want to thank Mike (Vitoco1972) who helped me get Magic and Kingbeeswax for selling me the card.

I purchased this PSA 7 and cracked it out (9-17-11)

Magic signed (10-10-11) Mike (Vitoco1972)

Bird signed (4-4-12) Stadiums of Legends

Julius Erving (8-25-13) Which I got in person at the Richmond VA show

Received back from PSA yesterday (9-11-13) Dropped off a Richmond show since PSA was there.

Great stuff, Bobby. I love that card.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Thanks for sharing Bobby. I really enjoy these multiple signings. I think the piece that gets autographed is as important as the autograph(s) and this was done right.

The grade bump was just the icing on the cake!

Thanks guys appreciate the nice words. If anyone tackles this project Dr J seems like a tough auto. It took me two years to get him at a good price.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
