<< <i>Not a single vote for Popeye? I always hated spinach growing up and I was dumb enough to believe my muscle would get that big by eating it. Never ate spinach ever after that. Amazing the things you believe as a kid. >>
Popeye is Famous Studios, so that is my list.
I really enjoy the drawn animation. I don't waste my time on the computer generated stuff from nowadays. I probably have at least a thousand cartoons on vcr tapes and dvds. Animation was king in the 30's, 40's, and 50's.
I also collect graded cartoon sets. I have complete registry sets of:
1960 Fleer Casper 1961 Primrose Popeye 3rd Series 1972 Barrett Tom & Jerry
Eventually, I'll get my 1930's Henry cards graded.
I find one thing really amusing about all of these replies. There is one major animation studio that no one has mentioned.
That was a *very* underrated show. Unfortunately, it mostly aired when only a handful of cable providers had Comedy Central in their basic lineup.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
Anyone remember the (short lived?) Marvel super heroes from the early 1960's? I think it was Captain America, Sub Mariner, Thor and maybe a couple others?
I think they might have been done by Stan Lee (not sure) as I remember the artwork was stunning compared to the other cartoons.
I was only 5 years old or so and think they were on weekday mornings before school??!?!?!?

"What silly but fun shows did you guys watch when you were young?"
Growing up in the 60's and getting the Atlanta area channels we had a show with "Officer Don and Orvil the dragon. That was about as silly as it gets. Even so I watched it everyday after school from about ages 6-10. Edited to add: The show was called the "Popeye Club"

What kids show did you just hate as a kid? I remember when Nickelodeon first came along and had a show called Pinwheel.
What is the first kids show you remember watching? For me it was Romper Room.
