Best grade this could get with this back centering...

So I placed a bid on this card last night and when I checked ebay this morning I didn't win the card, but had a second chance offer on it. Oddly, I was the third highest bidder so I am not really sure why I had the offer. That being said, based on the appearance of the front (decent centering, ok corners, etc) and assuming no surface wrinkles on the card (I just emailed the seller to verify no wrinkles) I would guess the card would be in the 5-6 range. However, the centering on the back has me wondering. What is the best grade a card could get with this centering on the back (looks outside the 90/10 guidelines):

From your scan, I'm not positive that the card has not been trimmed! I'd choose to pass on the purchase.

Anybody else have an opinion on this?

Edited to add: I love they way they depict Aaron's skin color ... what the hell color is that? LOL

it's a FAKE Doug.....let's get this s#!t out of here, our members are getting sucked in.
  • I agree. Def something wrong with those edges. And this seller has a bad rap on here so good enough for me to look elsewhere. Someone just reminded me that patience is best - no reason to spend good money on a bad raw card online when the right graded version will come along at some point.

Take a look at this one being sold AS A REPRINT on eBay. It has the same cut on the back as the one the OP referred to.

by good fortune or not, the raw card market has taken a rather precipitous turn as more and more people are trying to cheat others out of money, fewer and fewer are placing their trust in those select few who actually do sell honestly.

the realized prices for nice raw is all over the place right now. there are some bargains to be had. if you enjoy navigating a minefield. image

Me too. Everything about the auction was odd. It ended in the middle of the night (I think around 2-3 am mountain time), I got a second chance offer while being the 3 highest bidder, and the centering looked different than most Aaron rookies. I also just got a message back from the seller and he/she said that they weren't going to be home until tomorrow so they couldn't send me a picture of the card without the case until then (I asked for better pictures when I asked about surface wrinkles). That is interesting because my second chance offer would have expired by then. Lesson learned and it didn't cost me a dime!

That is the same seller. Looks like a bad actor image . Recolored cards, and in addition looks like fakes/reprints, I wonder what else. This guy has sold over $20K of cards in the last 6 months.

Looks like another fake very similar to the one posted at the beginning of this thread:
