I agree with it appearing to actually be third base, but.....
It looks like the picture was probably taken at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. Were the bullpens there, beyond the outfield fence, and is that actually the Orioles' bullpen?
Edited to add that I also agree with the comment on the linked site that the photo appears to be from a regular season game, as there are far too many empty seats in the background for it to be a playoff game.
<< <i>Pretty sure that's 2B-SS Ted Kubiak pictured with the A's... >>
It does look like him, doesn't it.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
+1 for Kubiak. He played all three infield positions for the A's so it's quite possible he was at third in this photo, other possibility is he could have been playing short and covering on a bunt. Definitely not from the 1974 ALCS though.
<< <i>The only other possibility would be Phil Garner. But I agree with the board. >>
Nah ... doesn't look like Phil.

And I checked Garner's game-by-game 1974 season stats (assuming the picture was taken in 1974), and he never appeared in a game against the Orioles that year. It's probably Kubiak though I wondered if it could have been Dick Green.

I believe its Kubiak in the picture , but believe it was a regular season game as Kubiak did not play in that series . Furthermore Brooks Robinson had only one play in the second game where he was on base , and a ground ball occurred . It wasn't a force out , but a throw to first for the finale out . ---- Sonny

The article refers to him sliding into second but with the dugout in the background maybe it's the third baseman?
