'85 Donruss factory sets

Does anyone here have any experience opening these looking for PSA 9-10 quality cards? If so, please share your thoughts. I am starting a high-end '85D set, and it seems like this would (potentially) be less expensive than ripping a bunch of boxes.

I believe one issue with Donruss factory set cards(84-87) when graded is they dont meet "minimum size" requirements.

They come sealed in cellophane from the factory. Like 100 per wrapper. So you're dealing with potential damage from that

I only tried with one. The Clemens had a massive corner ding and the Puckett was a PSA 9. Centering was a problem throughout.

I believe the cards out of the factory sets are slightly smaller in size, maybe 1/32. Also, due to the cellophane wrapping, many corners have a tendency to have rounding or a blunt corner. Your best bet for 80s donruss are out of the pack.

Cracked a case and landed 5 clemens 10s along with many others, no pucketts tho. centering was consistant throughout, so one bad ryan, meant all bad and majority of stars didnt have 10 centering. You do see n6 s at times on 83-87 donruss, but have always gotten them slabbed in the end.

Ive only busted 1 1985 Factory set and the cards were in great condition. I got a 10 on the clemens. If the top card in the cello brick is OC then most will be OC though.
