Question regarding PSA retiring Cert #

Hey all:

I just cracked out a PSA 9 for a re-sub. I tossed the old slab but now it got me thinking. The card is a PSA 9 pop 14 with no 10s. If it comes back a 9, the registry will show 15 9s. Not that big a deal I guess but will PSA cancel the old cert # without proof of the slab? I do have the cert #. Thanks!

PSA usually wants the flip in hand to delete a cert # from the population.

Well all except that the pop report for nines is still inflated by 1.

I have just deleted my VCP membership and deleted all links to the psa pop report. They are unreliable now. Who knows how deep this goes??? This can't be the only instance of this pop report inflation!
