How do you price out a collection for sale?

I have a chance to buy a raw collection from 1955 to 1970 ...Star cards...some highlites include 55 clemente ,banks...61 maris ..66 clemente...71 clemente...

Should I grade every card in my head and come up with a price nand then take a certain % of that to make an offer.....lets say its 3000 dollars worth of cards...do I offer 1500?

any thoughts on making a fair market offer...how do you guys approach buying a raw collection of 6
50 to 70s stars in ex+ condtion?

thanks scott

Unless there is something drop dead gorgeous....offer him about 50% based on raw value. Remember most raw price guides are based on NM for vintage; so you have to take all of that into account.
