Poll: How soon and how drastic will the market readjustment for Topps Chrome Refractors be?

D-Day is coming for these...I just had a $60 Trenton Hassell close on ebay ay $3 with no bids. Peole who have them are desperately trying to unload them at these prices, and no one's buying. Opinions?

    Wow, donniebaseball says half, anyone care to diagree/agree? I know this..if the drop is drastic, it is going to RUIN box sales...chrome inserts are always crap, so their rookies really drive the product.

    I think multiplier will go down to 4 and then 3 in 2 months on the refractors. Luckily I unloaded mine for nice kobe graded rcsimage

    I think Hondo has it about right...these things are simply dying on the vine in ebay auctions, no one is buying these beckett prices. The market simply demands a correction.

    I think they will crash, then slowly go back up (depending on how well the player plays). Parker, Tinsley, and a few others will hold up, the rest will die out.

    auto, I assume you mean the multiplier will crash, then regular values of the better players will rise, creating a market self-correction. That makes sense to me.

    I think the reg rcs will drop also. Those are going for like 10-20% of book. the multiplier will definately crash.

    airkobe, of course all cards experience that initial sales surge upon release, but the refractors were a special case, in thona s that multiplier hit the streets, everyone who had them was trying to sell them image And no one was buying.

    What does everyone think this will do to box prices when and if it happens? Like I was saying, as usual the inserts suck, so without those super marque rookies to drive the product, why would anyone pay $5-6 a pack?

    I think packs will stay at 3$. Thats the highest I have seen them here, never 5 or 6$.

    I think GU'ed jersey patches and shoe cards will hold up. Patches will always hold their value in most products. So, sell for 2x-4x over book.

    iverson.. I can get you some but you will have to pay all shipping costs. and I will have to find some hobby packs at a show also. I can get you retail packs anytime here at wal mart and the only thing that does not come in those are a few autographs. If you want hobby then there are usually some at the indianapolis shows I go to. LMK

    Hondo, I've never seen the packs cheaper than $4.50...and they've been $5-6 since they booked, I supsect those outrageous refractor values have some people feeling like they can take some liberties with pack prices as well.

    i think some patches will hold value, but sooner or later jersey patches will just become bigger and the little will just die off

    I don't collect Basketball. How many packs to a box? How many Rookies/box? How many Refractors/box? Is it anything like Chrome Football this year? Are all the rookie #d? Are all rookies refractors?

    Answer these for me please? I am curious to the hype.
    Looking for Tomlinson, Brees, Pujols, Mcgwire, Edmonds RC's, 2001 Topps Chrome Refractors (Football). All Cardinals regular issue, insert, auto's, and Game Used (Must be current players). Also looking for Ladell Betts, Kahlil Hill, Brad Banks, Dallas Clark, and any other Iowa players. 2001-2003 Rookies.
